FOCUS progresses

Detector development along two axes :

  • High impedance bolometers
  • Kinetic Inductance Detector (KIDs)* (Choice was made not to develop Transistor Edge Sensors, well developed in US)

*superconducting devices using photon-assisted pair breaking to detect radiation
